The University of the Philippines Los Baños Industrial Engineering (UPLB IE) Alumni Group conducted the first day of the review last July 3, 2021, for the upcoming 11th Certified Industrial Engineer (CIE) Examination.
This is the 5th CIE review organized by the UPLB IE Alumni Group and this the first time that the review is conducted online. This is also the first time that there are reviewees from other schools. On the first day of the review, 25 participants attended – 15 are UPLB graduates and 10 are graduates from other schools, namely, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, National College of Science and Technology, Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
The program started with an opening remark from Dr. Josefa Angelie D. Revilla, chair of the UPLB Industrial Engineering Department (IED), followed by testimonials from some of the reviewees who have aced the previous CIE exams: Engr. Dorothy Faith C. Masong (Top 8, 8th CIE Exam), Engr. Connie Rose P. Baltazar (Top 7, 9th CIE Exam), Engr. Nigel Frederic Pantastico (Top 3, 10th CIE Exam), and Engr. Marc Edelbert S. Villanueva (Top 1, 10th CIE Exam). The review proper is then facilitated by Asst. Prof. Angelo C. Ani and Asst. Prof. Allen Lemuel G. Lemence, UPLB IED faculty members. In the following weeks, the review sessions will also be facilitated by Engr. John Kenneth P. Punongbayan, Engr. Franz Christian S. Velasco, and other qualified and competent faculty members.
In the last three CIE exams, UPLB has consistently achieved 100% passing rate with some of the graduates making it to the list of topnotchers. This year, the goal remains the same. This year’s review also prepares the examinees for the additional challenges brought by the new exam setup as this is the first time that the CIE Exam will be conducted online.
The review is scheduled for 15 Saturdays from July 3 to October 9, 2021. This is followed by mock examinations to fully prepare the reviewees for the actual CIE Exam on November 13, 2021. (Franz Christian S. Velasco via https://ied.ceat.uplb.edu.ph/)
